Photographs record a moment of now, telling us what the present looks like. At the same time, there are places, which appear to not share in the contemporary moment. I am drawn to Henry Thoreau's idea that the "future is already here, it is just unevenly distributed". In these projects I am looking for places where it appears that the past functions that way as well. I continue to add to this work as my own life moves through a sense of time where the days move slowly, while the years fly by.
